DwightTheGreat @ 4. Mar 05 21:00 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | As we all know, Kaizers Orchestra is comming out with their 3rd album later this year, I made this thread so that Kaizer-fans could talk about the new album, because I am an american I can't read the front page, so it would be very helpful if someone could tell me a general idea of what is currently happening with the Kaizers, I also notice the letters "DVD" on the front page, could someone please tell me news about that too? Any information would be highly appreciated. I hope this thread proves useful to other Kaizer-fans who don't speak Norwegian or just want to know more about the album and other new stuff.

Zud @ 4. Mar 05 21:22 Moderator DMA Team 3622 posts | New record, single and music video
Maestro (probably the title of the new record) is almost finished. Among the guest musicians are a gang of wonderful gypsies, who were in the studio last week. The release date is set to August the 15. in Scandinavia, and most likely about the same time in the rest of Europe. In Norway it is released on Kaizers' own company, and it's to be distributed by Sonet/Universal. In the rest of Europe it's released by Universal. The record will also be released on vinyl (LP? ), and CD-fans needn't worry about having to commit a crime to transfer the music on to their iPod, Maestro is released without copy control.
A single will be released, probably in the end of May, in Germany. Someone is working on a new internetnet based store so you can order the single through the Internet. There will also be a radio single just before this, in Norway. In addition, a music video for one of the songs will be made. Concerts Kaizers will do some festival gigs this summer, mostly in countries which haven't been given salvation yet, like France and hopefully England and the Glastonbury festival. A tour following the new album will hopefully start in September, starting with the biggest cities in Norway, before the guys head for Europe for a couple of weeksl. After this they will do more shows in Norway. The Prekestol concert A 15-20 minute long programme from the concert will be made, to promote the album. DVD Will contain the programme from Prekestolen, plus clips from the preparations for the concert. It will also contain clips from the recording in the studio, and other tidbits.. A release date is yet to be set, but it'll probably be in the stores around Christmas. ... Haha. I have to get a life.

I'm sorry, it says "about the same time in Germany".. What about the rest of Europe then? Omg. Rofl. Lol2k and so on.

DwightTheGreat @ 4. Mar 05 22:55 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | thanks alot, if you find out anything else please tell me, do you think the dvd will have their music videos in it?
| ||||
|
Katrine @ 4. Mar 05 23:14 Full Peis Katastrofen 3264 posts | The music videos (Mann Mot Mann and Kontroll På Kontinentet) are available at the Mann Mot Mann-single. The Evig Pint-video is somewhere out on the net for downloading...
Don't know if the DVD will be included music videos, but it might not happen, since they're available from other releases....
|
DwightTheGreat @ 4. Mar 05 23:19 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | *sigh*... ok...hmm... well, I guess I should go out right now and buy the MMM single, I already downloaded Kontroll På Kontinentet and I must say I really liked it, what do you think about the MMM video, and if you have seen the Evig Pint one what do you think of that one too? Also, Do you know what the name of the single will be? thanks.
| ||||
|
Katrine @ 5. Mar 05 00:11 Full Peis Katastrofen 3264 posts | Yeah, you should. The MMM video is a cheap animated video.. Most funny. Just showing the happening in the song, Kontroll På Kontinentet must be their best video so far. Followed by Evig Pint, that's a good one too. It's linked somewhere on this page, I just couldn't find it right now.. Look around, and you'll probably find it, search the internet or something. It's out there somewhere.
The name of the single? We don't know yet. You'll sure be informed when we know.

And the videos are all great, the MMM video is also available online (check the Kaizers page or this forum, I posted the link not long ago somewhere...)

As far as I'm informed the album will be released all over Europe on 15-08. Bring it on!!

But I think a new single should appear on the radio's pretty soon(atleast in Norway/Europe)... May, maybe?
|
SusiS @ 14. Apr 05 13:40 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | Well, talking about Germany only: If the single is to come out end of May, it won't be on the radio until mid of May. Well, probably it won't be on the radio at all... *sigh* But the video should be on. And normally for singles this happens two or three week before the single comes out. I would guess that this will also be the time when the radio single comes out in Norway.
But all pure speculation, no clue, honestly...
|
DwightTheGreat @ 8. May 05 21:44 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | I can't wait, it should be awesome, of course, I live in America so I won't get to hear Kaizers on the radio or see the music video on TV... oh well, I guess that's why I have have a computer.
oh, and does anyone know what the name of their new single will be and how many singles they will be releasing before their next album? thanks, Dwight The Great
|
Katrine @ 8. May 05 22:25 Full Peis Katastrofen 3264 posts | They only released "Di Grind" (as a radio single) last time before the album came out. This time it might be some more, I don't know... We heard Di Grind first in the end of December somewhere I think (the album came out early February).

| ||||
|
SusiS @ 12. May 05 13:56 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | Ok, I didn't hear it, but I guess I can explain... *g*
Kaizers will play in Bochum tomorrow night at an event organized by a radio station. That radio station gave away some tickets for the concert yesterday evening, and when I tuned in, they were announcing that and playing a song by Furia afterwards. Furia is one of the other bands that will play there tomorrow night. So probably they played a Kaizers song after first announcing this giveaway, and according to Lauz, it was Maestro... And yes, she is right, look here: http://www.einslive.de/diemusik/dieplaylists/index.phtml?plid=2077&list=kultkomplex&titel=Kultkomplex So, Eins Live is the radio station, they also have a webstream, so you might want to tune in tomorrow night - I don't know whether they will broadcast something from the concert (there's lots of different concerts anyway), but they might.
|
helene @ 12. May 05 14:14 Mafia member | how cool.
but I think I read that Maestro was supposed to be released in Europe now in May, BEFORE being released in Norway. You lucky bastards
| ||||
|
SusiS @ 12. May 05 14:27 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | The way I understood it, it's gonna be released as a "real" single only in Germany, and will be a radio-single in Norway. Or are you talking about the album?
Well, maybe we'll find out something tomorrow, let's wait and see. Lucky bastard indeed, can't wait until tomorrow! =:-)
|
Zud @ 12. May 05 14:41 Moderator DMA Team 3622 posts | They can't release the album in Europe three months before they release it in Norway. I object:)
| ||||
|
SusiS @ 12. May 05 14:57 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | I'm sure they won't. Plus, there would be something about it on the Universal-website if it was to be released this month.
| ||||
|
Lauz @ 12. May 05 15:04 Informant 10 posts | surely i was right!!:)
*sigh*have to listen to it all day long and tried to write down the lyrics-but still i don't understand a word..... (also i can't wait until tomorrow..it'll be so cruel to listen to TWO other and rather uninteresting bands before...)
|
Zud @ 12. May 05 16:16 Moderator DMA Team 3622 posts | Do you have it on mp3 or something??
| ||||
|
Lauz @ 12. May 05 17:19 Informant 10 posts | i recorded it on tape and i would transorm it to a mp3 if i knew how to do that....
| ||||
|
SusiS @ 12. May 05 17:35 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | Do you have a walkman or something? You could bring that tomorrow, and I will bring my laptop... =;-)
But honestly I don't feel very well about spreading this everywhere. Live recordings, ok, but radio recordings... don't know.
|
Zud @ 12. May 05 20:53 Moderator DMA Team 3622 posts | Well it's obvious that this is going to be the radio single, isn't it? :/
| ||||
|
ingeervisstmeg @ 12. May 05 22:17 DJ Sløv 2861 posts | Well, no. Janove was asked about that after the preikestolen gig and he said they had another, better song as choice for single. I want to hear it now! Only thing is I only listen to radio whilst driving. If they played a brand new Kaizers single, I would drive straight off the road, into the ocean and got eaten by gigantic whale, so I wouldn't get to hear the rest of the album.
| ||||
|
DwightTheGreat @ 13. May 05 03:35 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | AAAWWWEEESSSOOOMMMEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I WISH I LIVED IN EUROPE SOO MUCH!!!!! if anyone recorded it it would be great if you could send it to me over email or something. THAT'S SOO AWESOME!!!!! and one more thing... isn't Norway part of Europe.... unless I'm just a really stupid American
|
canuck @ 13. May 05 07:34 Mafia member 94 posts | ingeervisstmeg: I would do the same thing too. Good thing I'm not in Europe. :P
| ||||
|
SusiS @ 13. May 05 09:02 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | Dwight: Officially, yes, Norway is part of Europe. But Scandinavians tend to speak about Scandinavia and Europe as separate. A little bit like the British and the Continent... =;-)
And I have experienced this "suddenly hearing a new song while driving" with my favorite German band. Happened more or less like ingeervisstmeg - ok, without the whale-thing, luckily. And I managed to stay on the road. *gg*
|
Zud @ 13. May 05 16:26 Moderator DMA Team 3622 posts | So no one is willing to let us other poor bastards hear it?
| ||||

| ||||
|
SusiS @ 15. May 05 12:50 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | Well, it's in the cellar now, right? =;-) I have to admit though that I liked Delikatessen a lot better.
The concert was awesome! Five new songs, and the audience just went crazy. Wow! And I have my barrel now! =:-D So, the single will be out in June, video will also be filmed in June, so it's probably gonna be end of June. =;-) Only for Germany, didn't ask about Norway.
|
Katrine @ 15. May 05 15:06 Full Peis Katastrofen 3264 posts | Congratulations with your barrel! Nice, nice! I think Maestro is better than Delikatessen though... But they\'re both nice. Janove is just a bit annoying sometimes. Hehe. But it's nice.
| ||||
|
Zud @ 15. May 05 16:46 Moderator DMA Team 3622 posts | I think I like Delikatessen better, but I don't know yet:p
| ||||

| ||||
|
ScheisseGerhard @ 15. May 05 21:20 Mafia member 408 posts | I love'em both...
But I think Delikatessen is a little bit better... Can't wait for September!
|
DwightTheGreat @ 15. May 05 22:36 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | well, this also must be considered: they are both live performances done over radio, so the quality is well... sub-par. When the studio versions come out and the quality is cleaned up, both should be alot better.
| ||||
|
DwightTheGreat @ 15. May 05 23:45 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | Now that lyrics for songs on the new album are on the site and people have heard the songs, I must ask a question to all the people that speak norwegian on this thread... Is there a theme appearing (such as the general themes of war and life during war-time in the first 2 albums)? So far I recognize alot of talk of this "Dieter Meier" institution, with the songs titles of "Dieter Meiers institusjon", "Medisin og psykiatri", and what Janove said at the beginning of "Delikatessen" in the Eins Live performance.
Well, if anyone could try to find the theme of this album, I would be greatful, I am quite curious, thanks.
|
DwightTheGreat @ 15. May 05 23:49 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | Also...(sorry about triple-posting)... I hope they have a Gas mask on the cover, like the last 2... does any one know if there will be one on the cover?
| ||||
|
Henning @ 16. May 05 00:31 Mafia boss DMA Team 598 posts | There is a theme on the new album, it's about mentally ill people. There's been rumours about this for two years now, and now it's proven to be true.
Medisin og psykiatri is about a psychiatric session between a patient and a psychiatrist (that probably takes place at the institution?). The I-person in Tokyo Ice says he hears voices in his that tells him to "shoot, shoot, shoot".
|
DwightTheGreat @ 16. May 05 01:08 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | ah...cool, thanks
| ||||
|
muskedundar @ 16. May 05 12:40 Mafia member 322 posts | I think that the I-person in Medisin and Psykiatri is planning to take revenge in På ditt skift...
| ||||
|
SusiS @ 16. May 05 15:29 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | I don't know whether there will be a gas mask on the cover, but the will keep their logo for the third album as well and will not change it.
| ||||
|
DwightTheGreat @ 17. May 05 04:36 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | I just think they should hang on to the gas mask... That helps make them unique, in the german thing from Eins live, on this site, I understood an ok amount (I'm learning german in school) but the words "gas mask" really stood out, people remember that kind of thing... oh well, if they don't have it on I'll still love them
| ||||
|
Zud @ 17. May 05 16:00 Moderator DMA Team 3622 posts | I can understand them if they don't put it on the cover though. I mean, it's not too cool if the only thing people remember about them is "that gas mask". It's like the oil barrels - they've almost stopped using them
| ||||
|
SusiS @ 17. May 05 16:08 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | But they want to get back to using the oil barrels more often again - and I think that's cool. =;-)
| ||||
|
DwightTheGreat @ 17. May 05 23:33 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | do they use the barrels in the new album, does anyone know? the oil barrels kick ass!
| ||||
|
SusiS @ 18. May 05 09:13 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | Yep, as I said, they want to get back to using them more often, so they'll be on the new album also.
| ||||
|
Katrine @ 18. May 05 10:56 Full Peis Katastrofen 3264 posts | I've heard them in one of those songs.. Maestro I think (just listened to it and can't remember... Haha). I love those, they're cool. Gives the songs something special. Anyway, it's better to be known for using the gas mask than the oil barrels.. They don't want people to see them as a band just using things found around, but the gas mask is more about their style...
| ||||
|
ScheisseGerhard @ 18. May 05 15:16 Mafia member 408 posts | Barrels are indeed used at the end of Maestro!
| ||||
|
DwightTheGreat @ 18. May 05 20:50 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | I agree, the barrels ROCK... but the mask is just part of their style... and damn cool.

Peter @ 11. Jun 05 18:03 Mafia member 19 posts | Ok, you all are a bunch of nerdy geeks about this band. And I guess I am too. Probably more so than all of you! I'm 38 years old! Usually only teenagers and twenty-somethings are that fanatic about bands.
Anyway, does anyone know of a reliable source to order the album from when it comes out. I would really like the vinyl but I bet the cd would be cheaper and easier, and probably safer to send overseas. Also, how many here are musicians in bands and do you play any Kaisers songs? Pete from Tennesee, USA

Katrine @ 11. Jun 05 19:54 Full Peis Katastrofen 3264 posts | I'm in a way musician.. I'm not playing in a band, but me, Nettum and Zud have played Kaizers a few times. I'd like to play in a band, and hopefully I'm going to this autumn...
Guess it will come out on vinyl as well, all the other albums have been released at vinyl besides cd.

DwightTheGreat @ 11. Jun 05 22:14 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | I am in a band called "Resistansen". We just started up not too long ago, with the idea of introducing more Americans to Kaizers Orchestra. If you look hard enough you can find pictures on this site. We even have kind of our own web site that is rather cheaply made, you can check it out if you want, it's:

DwightTheGreat @ 26. Jun 05 18:08 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | Well... on that note, does anyone know what "Blitzregn Baby" sounds like?
if no one caught that I'll have to give you a quote: "No matter if "Auksjon" bangs with the patented "Who Is Your Daddy?-chorus", if "På Ditt Skift" rumbles with barrels, the single "Maestro" even rattles with oriental rhythms or "Blitzregn Baby" turns out to be a fulminant White Stripes-Rip-Off."... from the Maestro Review I think a good guess is that "Blitzregn Baby" could be their next single... well, the possibilities are endless... ok... maybe not... there are only really 10 songs left that they could do a video of... oh well
|
Helene @ 26. Jun 05 18:10 Mafia member | I hope Blitzregn Baby will be the next single. Heard it first time yesterday at the MTVconcert, liked it from the first tone. But I cant remeber how it sounded, all I do remember is that I thought about dancing swing to it, or maybe the lyrics said something about swingdancing...oh. not sure!
| ||||
|
DwightTheGreat @ 26. Jun 05 18:28 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | That's... Damn cool
I am curious about how it sounds, since I'm an American I can't go to their concerts, and it seems the only chance you get to hear that song is at their concerts... I'm sure whatever song they decide to do will be awesome! It's really great though, this is the first album they have done 2 videos for, and I have a feeling they will make a third one... I'm really happy that they signed with Universal (Germany), it's helping them reach their full potential!
|
DwightTheGreat @ 26. Jun 05 18:38 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | One more thing...
Who is in control of this site?... They got 10 copies of the new Maestro EP for that contest thinggy... I'm sure that curiousity got the best of them and they checked out the new EPs "D-Dagen" and "Sorti"... I was wondering, if they did listen to it, if they could tell us alittle something about them... like lyrics and how they sound...
Of corse, if they didn't I totally respect their choice not to.

Keep up the good work Henning!
and "gypsypunk" sounds really cool, now I want to hear the song more thanks

SusiS @ 26. Jun 05 23:47 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | As far as I understood, those are promo-singles, only containing Maestro and nothing else...
And I doubt Blitzregn Baby will be the next single, as they said "a song nobody has heard yet" - and they've played BB several times already. I hardly remember it, but it was pretty fast and "heavy", so gypsypunk sounds like a good description. I'll listen to it more carefully in France next week... =:-))

DwightTheGreat @ 27. Jun 05 01:45 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | OOH, good point about the "a song nobody has heard yet", I forgot about that... but what do you mean by "promo-singles, only containing Maestro and nothing else..."
The Maestro EP has the music video, På ditt skift and 2 new songs... not just Maestro. oh well, I probably just misunderstood something.

DwightTheGreat @ 27. Jun 05 01:46 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | damn it, sorry about that double (now triple) post...

Fanman Truls @ 27. Jun 05 02:11 The Fanman DMA Team 1488 posts | The Promo which is price in the competition isn't the same as the new single which will be released in a couple of days.
So the single will have two more extra songs, which the promo don't have.

DwightTheGreat @ 27. Jun 05 02:30 Tribute Band Member Resistansen 472 posts | ok...
I have a feeling they will be comming out with more deals like the Maestro EP, I mean hey, they have another single and music video, they have songs like Tokyo Ice and Medisin... I'm going to keep positive and think they will probably come out with another EP or two

SusiS @ 27. Jun 05 09:32 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | Why don't we just wait until we _know_ the tracklist of the album before we start speculating about the bonus tracks of the upcoming singles?!?
I just enjoy looking forward to the album. Probably I should just read less here, 'cause I hate all the discussions about things nobody has any idea about yet...

tightlips @ 27. Jun 05 10:53 Informant 1306 posts | I'm really confused about the whole tracklist deal now, some people seem so certain as for what's going to be on it. Does anyone actually KNOW yet? O_o

tightlips @ 27. Jun 05 10:56 Informant 1306 posts | I mean the album tracklist, of course.

Katrine @ 27. Jun 05 11:06 Full Peis Katastrofen 3264 posts | Kaizers know I guess. Nothing is official, so if you're looking for official info, it'll come for a day soon enough... Someone out on the net somewhere had written down a tracklist, but it's not confirmed in any way as far as I know, so we can't trust it completely...

SusiS @ 27. Jun 05 11:07 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | I don't think so, that's why I'm so fed up with the topic... =:-/
(And even if people can make up the tracklist - Kaizers/Universal might have chosen another name for one of the songs...)
|
tightlips @ 27. Jun 05 16:19 Informant 1306 posts | Thanks, that's all I needed to know.
Guess we'll just have to show some patience and wait for the release.

SusiS @ 2. Jul 05 22:41 Translator DMA Team 880 posts | OK, about Blitzregn Baby again: I would call it "rock'n'punk" rather than "gypsypunk", in my opinion there's not much gypsy in it. But it's really cool, and really fast, and it sounds very "American" in some way, you really don't realize that it's sung in Norwegian.
And I think the thing about it being a "White Stripes-rip off" comes from the singing-part in the middle, the melody there is very similar to the riff of Seven Nation Army, so it's not about the general style of the song, but just about this melody, probably.
